I read a lot (mostly nonfiction), and enjoy playing Scrabble, because I love words. I bike about 30 miles and hike 13 miles every week. I love music, and have sung in symphony and opera choruses in the past. I have a blog (and always a few research projects in the works which will ultimately show up there!) I am widely traveled, and lived and worked in different countries in Europe and Africa in my 20's. I took Astronomy 101-102 at Cornell from Carl Sagan, Thomas Gold, and Frank Drake! I am working on new techniques for teaching and tutoring all the time, and welcome feedback from my students so we can both improve. I put in time on my own to make sure I'm prepared for our meetings.
